The ESU#9 preschool diagnostic center provides assessment for children from birth to age five.
Children come from school districts outside of Hastings in Adams, Clay, Hamilton, Nuckolls, and Webster counties. Testing is provided for areas of speech and language, hearing, physical and occupational therapy, and psychological. Children who are found to have a significant need in one or more of those areas are eligible for placement in one of the preschool classrooms, or are seen at home or at the child care provider's home.
