CNEC

CNEC serves children and families in the seven county area of the Central and South Heartland District Health Departments. The project will integrate activities for social and emotional well-being of children from prenatal to 5 years of age.

Promotion and prevention activities in the region are primarily directed toward at-risk families and their children. Existing resources include Early Head Start, Good Beginnings, Healthy Beginnings, and Healthy Starts.  This project was the only one funded in Nebraska to begin developing a systematic approach for resource and referral of Early Childhood Mental Health Systems. The program is housed at the Head Start center in Hastings.
